The problem is…all of these sites are NOT promoting the same natural remedy! Which tells you there is no magic bullet. However, the fact that there is no natural treatment for back acne does not mean that natural treatments are ineffective. On the contrary, many acne sufferers have found that when they combine two or more natural treatments, their back acne is significantly improved, if not completely gone.

In an effort to simplify your search through the jungle of natural remedies for back acne, we’ve divided them into four broad categories. The improvement in my complexion and that of dozens of friends and associates through simple dietary changes has been nothing short of remarkable. If you’re skeptical about the acne-clearing benefits of anti-inflammatory foods, my strong advice is to research these anti-inflammatory diets and just give them a try. If you follow one of the more popular anti-acne diets, you have a great chance of recovery.

Cornerstone #2Anti-inflammatory food supplements: To enhance the beneficial effects of our anti-inflammatory diet, the use of potent anti-inflammatory supplements is highly recommended. Specific supplements that have been shown to improve back acne include alpha-lipoic acid, omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids, vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), and zinc.

Cornerstone No. 3- Anti-inflammatory topical agents: As I’ll discuss in the next article in this series, traditional over-the-counter and prescription medications are effective in treating back acne symptoms but have no side effects. Therefore, it makes sense to use “natural” topicals that contain powerful anti-inflammatory ingredients before using more potentially damaging conventional creams and medications. Great ingredients to look out for are alpha-lipoic acid, DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol), glutathione, and Manuka honey.

Cornerstone #4Anti-inflammatory lifestyle habits: Cortisol is a natural hormone in our body that is produced in response to stress. As short bursts of heightened concentration, it helps us cope with stress. However, with long-term elevated blood concentrations, cortisol can damage our bodies at the cellular level.
