Magickal Oils of Indonesian Shamanism Part 2
Note. The following descriptions of magical oils contain foreign words and expressions (Javanese/Arabic/Indonesian) – these are left untranslated to properly identify the oils and associated mantras/prayers.
Istanbul oil is one of the most common types of magic sold in Arab communities throughout Indonesia and worn especially by Islamic teachers. There are different grades and the good ones give off a very pungent but fragrant smell. Once sniffed, it is almost never forgotten. It will be a lasting memory. The scent is quite persistent, sometimes lingering on a person for days, and some say it can be detected up to 20 feet away – although that may be an exaggeration. Because of its sharpness, many people disagree with it, saying that it makes the head spin.
Although Minyak Istanbul is worn as a common perfume among Islamic educators, shamans also use it as a potent oil for romance, sexual attraction, and charisma. By empowering personal energies and thought forms, anyone within the range of the scent will not only see in our direction, but also feel drawn and desired to connect with us. The opposite sex would consider us beautiful or handsome. Pure Istanbul oil is hard to come by, most of what is sold through marketplaces is diluted and mixed with other oils.
The oil can be consecrated with the following mantra to attract a specific person:
“Ingsun matek ajiku sibayang-bayang rasa
“Aji minyak istanbul sings kramat pengasihan
“Siapa lihat dia terpikat dan turut terpikat
“Siang kharisma nabi Yusuf like ada di wajahku
“Allahuma ya Allah” 7x
“And Muhammad” 3x
“Inkanat ila syaihatan wahidatan fa idzahum Jamiul ladaina muhdhorun” 7x
“Sing aku pantek si (the name of the person you want to attract) datang padaku haqqul yakin.”
Among the many miracle oils of the Dayaks is (Si)-Nyong-nyong. This minyak comes from the Iban tribe. This is a rare magical love oil used primarily by the natives of Kalimantan to keep a spouse faithful, although it is used by both men and women for other matters of the heart.
It is said that men under the influence of this oil never commit adultery, though they are subject to the wildest temptations which the fairer sex can direct them. If a man were to succumb to the tricks and seductions of the bully, he would find himself losing his sexual potency and unable to have sexual intercourse. The strange thing is that, although impotent to other women, the body would function normally in fulfilling its sexual obligations to its legal wife.
Nyong-nyong is made through a complex ritual process that is kept a secret by the producers of this oil. It is usually prepared on the birthday of the magically powerful head of the tribe. According to sources, on this special day, the enchanted bottles are compulsorily hung on a certain type of banana tree for seven days and nights, after which the bottles are magically filled with a thick liquid and known as Nyong-nyong. The rite is not always successful due to its rarity.
Nyong-nyong can be administered in a number of ways, one way being to have it swallowed by an unsuspecting subject. A few drops in the subject’s drink is enough to make him reject the advances of other women. The effects of the oil may only last for several weeks or months, during which the wizard repeats the process to maintain the status quo.
In general, many Dayak love oils can be used to influence another using the following rite:
Take dirt or soil from the subject’s footprints and wrap it in a white cloth, after which several drops of anointing oil should be applied to the bundle. After that, the soil bundle should be placed under the pillow. The subject should then be visualized in an appropriate manner while calling his name at least three times. At the same time, the pillow must be repeatedly turned and beaten.
Although Nyong-nyong oil is hard to come by, it is there for those who seek it. Minyak Nyong-nyong may be sold by some perfume sellers, peddlers and commercial psychics, although the authenticity of the oil offered is questionable.
Minyak Air-Mata Duyung
This oil is the secretion or tears of the eyes of sea mammals called among the local people of Indonesia. The creature sheds tears to lubricate its eyes. Duyung has long been thought to be a mythological mermaid and related to the Greek “sirens”; however, the latter is often called “putri-duyung” by Indonesian folklorists and is quite different from “ikan-duyung” or dugong. Its scientific classification is as follows:
Family: Sirenia of the Pugongidae order.
Classification: Dugong dugon.
When the gentle and harmless dugong involuntarily sheds these “crocodile tears” in fishermen’s nets, perhaps due to the pain of the fight. Most fishermen wipe these tears off the dugong with a cotton swab before returning the creature to the sea. The liquid in the cotton is later pressed and put into vials.
Dugong oil or eye discharge has a wonderful but light scent and is highly valued for its magical power to attract members of the opposite sex. It is often used alone or mixed with other magical natural oils with high pheromone content. content. In appearance, “minyak air-mata duyung” is crystal clear like the water of a stream. Due to its scarcity, it is very expensive.
In Minyak Bulu
Minyak Bulus is derived from freshwater turtle fat and is used as an active ingredient to increase the size of sexual appendages such as breasts and penises. It has a thick yellowish appearance. You should be careful when buying this oil as there are many fakes in the market. To use this oil, simply apply and massage it onto your breast or penis. As far as we know, no scientific studies have been conducted on the benefits of Bulus oil, but the use of the oil for generations is testimony to its amazing properties.
Minyak Apel Jin
During rites of exhortation and evocation of spirits, Apel Jin oil is often used here in Indonesia by shamans and those involved in Islamic occultism to facilitate contact. This oil has a black appearance. Thicker forms of this oil look like tar and can be burned over glowing coals as incense. Apel-Jin is mostly used to evoke regional or house spirits or entities belonging to the lower astral sphere. Its composition is a closely guarded secret, but some claim it contains products derived from domestic or farm animals. Apel-Jin is available in different grades and originally packaged in apple-like brass containers, which gives it its name.
Lintah means “leech”. Minyak Lintah is thus translated as “Oil of Leeches”. This oil, like minyak bulus, is used to increase the size of the penis in men and has been proven effective by many. The oil has a black appearance and is obtained from secretly prepared leeches. The application method is similar to Minyak Bulus.
Minyak Kesambi and Minyak Banyu Urip
“Banyu Urip” and Kesambi oils are the product names given by their skilled manufacturer. These oils are extracted from the sap of certain trees and then given magical powers. The user only needs to consume potions for the powers to take effect in their body. The virtues of Banyu Urip oil are as follows: it strengthens the bones; it increases invulnerability against sharp weapons; it causes rapid healing of wounds; it strengthens the skin; it provides magical protection against negative entities and forces; it increases one’s personal magnetism; it gives one ‘sabda siddhi’ or gives power to words; it increases psychic sensitivity, etc. Kesambi oil is a class more powerful than Banyu Urip – in addition to being invulnerable to sharp weapons, it also makes you invulnerable to bullets. Consuming 7 bottles of one or the other oil gives a long lasting effect.
Among the martial arts of Pencak Silat here in Java, Indonesia, Cimande (pronounced: Chee-Mun-Day) oil is quite famous for its invulnerability and ability to help heal broken bones, bruises, wounds, and muscles. traction, twisted bonds, etc. The physical formula and appearance of Cimande oil may vary from shaman manufacturer to manufacturer, but the magical power infused by these manufacturers is the same. Some of the ingredients in Cimande oil are few and not easy to obtain; therefore, the manufacturers of Cimande oils occasionally have to make do with what is available and use the best substitutes – this also contributes to the fact that even the same manufacturer varies from stock to stock. Many of these Cimande oils are sold in traditional markets, but not all of them are genuine – most of them are diluted by dealers to make more profit, so be careful when buying them. Manufacturers view the practice of dealers cutting oils with great irritation.
There are basically two types of Cimande oils, although there are said to be more. The two types of oil can look different and often even look similar; however, they must be distinguished by their purposes, not their appearance. The first type is the usual Cimande “balur” oils, which are used in massage, to treat bruises and minor injuries. Another type helps to heal broken bones and is used for large muscle injuries. It also increases the user’s invulnerability to sharp weapons and blows. Some Cimande oil can be ingested to heal the organs. Depending on the ingredients used, cement oil can have a strong sweet-sour smell.
Cimande oil is highly praised by martial arts and contact sports practitioners.
One of the magical oils acquired in Islamic occult practice in Indonesia is Ponibasawa oil. This oil is especially used to discover known treasures hidden in certain places or to manifest money, gold and jewels through occult rituals. Genuine Ponibasawa oils are sanctified with verses from the Qur’an and divine names – as recited by a whole “choir” of spiritual adepts and their students. The real power of Ponibasawa lies in the khodams or angelic servants of Quranic verses and divine names anchored in oil, represented primarily by needles dipped in them. The oil also releases a lot of energy during the process of evaporation during occult rites and this imparts the necessary energy to the khodams of the oil to perform their assigned task. Many anomalies have been observed with Ponibasawa oils or its variants, for example, when a bottle of oil is placed in a glass of water, it causes the water to evaporate very quickly. Some have claimed that the khodams of ponibasawa oils do not like alcohol, so when brought near bottles of alcoholic beverages, the latter breaks into pieces.
During rites of searching for treasure or manifesting money or gold from the ethers, the oil is usually used with high quality Buhur or powdered incense. Certain prayers and mantras are recited to activate the power and forces associated with the oil.
Many ponibasawa oils are sold in traditional markets, but not all of them are genuine and most of them are fake in the sense that they have no occult power. Genuine ones are very expensive and scarce and are said to originate from Turkey. Ponibasawa oils come in different colors and are sealed in vials in larger glass tubes. The number of sealed vials can vary from one to three or even more. Each sealed vial contains a different amount of needles – the more needles they contain, the stronger the oil – however, some variants of ponibasawa oil do not contain needles.
