Should You Join a CCCS – Consumer Credit Counseling Service for Debt Relief and Financial Freedom?

Do you need to join the CCCS Consumer Credit Counseling Service?

Are you in “debt hell”? If you’re not sure, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Are bill collectors calling you at home and at work leaving annoying messages?
  2. Do you dread opening the door in the morning because you’re afraid the sheriff’s office has left you with a warrant?
  3. Do you get butterflies in your stomach when the phone rings?
  4. If you answer the phone and it’s a bill collector, when they ask you, do you answer “he’s not in right now” or even just pick up the phone and hang up without saying who’s on the other end?
  5. Do you go days without checking your mail because there are only bills?
  6. When you finally receive a letter, do you throw it away for weeks or even months without ever opening it?
  7. Paying one credit card company bill with another credit card?
  8. Are your credit cards over your credit limit and in arrears?
  9. Are you only getting high interest credit card offers?
  10. Have you applied for credit cards or car loans and been told you were denied because of bad credit?
  11. Does your credit report show a lot of late payments, charge-offs, bad debts, 30, 60, 90 or 120 days late?
  12. Does filing for bankruptcy seem like your only option?

If you are involved in at least two of these things, chances are you would benefit from consumer credit counseling.

Trust me, I know what you’re going through. I was in this situation. I had recently moved from a large metropolitan area with a decent salary to a smaller area with almost the same cost of living and had to take a pay cut of almost $20,000. In addition, I had just had a baby and was a single mother.

I had to “live” and with a $20,000 cut, it left me with no choice (or so I thought) but to not pay the bills and get the essentials (baby formula, diapers, etc.). . I tell you, I was depressed. I didn’t open my bills for months at a time. The phone rang every morning from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the evening. Bill collectors would call me at work and leave messages for co-workers with their “800” numbers if I wasn’t there. It was so embarrassing. I went on like this for about a year before I finally decided I had to do something about it.

I had seen ads on TV for debt consolidation and consumer credit counseling service “CCCS” offering freedom from financial worries and a chance to reclaim my life and dignity, but somehow I hadn’t taken it. I was talking to a friend the other day and they were telling me how they joined Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) and felt very relieved and financially free. CCCS was able to contact all the creditors they had credit card balances with and were able to either lower their credit card interest down to single digit interest rates and in some cases down to 0% interest! Consumer Credit Counseling Services was also able to eliminate most of their late fees and over-the-limit fees, so when payments were made, it went directly to their credit card balances and helped them pay off their debt faster.

All of this information was exciting and sounded very promising to me, and now I had someone I knew tell me how it worked for them, so it became much more realistic. I searched the yellow pages for credit counseling agencies and found my local branch of Consumer Credit Counseling Services. I called them, made an appointment and went inside. I was assigned a counselor and met with him for about an hour. When I got out, I felt a huge sense of relief. I had an action plan in place to clear my debt. I was assured that the annoying and harassing collection calls would stop. I only had to worry about making one payment to my local CCCS office and they take care of sending all the credit card payments to my other creditors. After two years I was debt free.

If you are in a similar situation, I encourage you to look into consumer credit counseling services. They can get you back on track, reduce stress, improve life for you and your family, and make your life better in general.
