It’s better to use those labeled as containing oxygen-rich ingredients or those that claim to remove protein-based stains such as food and grass stains. Apply the detergent to the affected area and leave it on for 30 minutes. Then wash as usual and air dry.

Use solar power to remove stains: The sun can also help remove sweat stains, as hard as it may be to believe. The only condition is that the sun’s rays must get a little help from liquid laundry detergents! Soak the affected garment in water and then use liquid detergent on the stained area. After that, put the garment in the sun to dry. However, continue to wet the garment for some time by spraying water on it. After a full afternoon of sun treatment, wash cool and air dry.

Use hydrogen peroxide: This is the best possible solution for removing sweat stains from white fabrics. Use tartar and aspirin cream: This may sound like an odd combination, but it is known to work wonders. Make a paste of one tablespoon of cream of tartar, three crushed full strength aspirins (they should be white and without any colored coating) and a cup of warm water and scrub the stained area with an old toothbrush. Leave it like this for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse the affected area with warm water until the paste is completely removed. You can repeat this treatment-rinse cycle as many times as needed, but in our experience a maximum of three is sufficient.

Use baking powder: Sometimes the unsweated smell remains on clothes even after they have been thoroughly washed. Follow this method to get rid of this unpleasant smell. When washing clothes, add about ½ cup of baking soda to the liquid detergent. To remove both sweat stains and odor, you can try the following formula: make a paste of baking soda and water, then rub it on the problem area. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and wash as usual.

Sometimes the fabric can turn yellow, which is an unwanted side effect of sweat stains. If your fabric is yellowed and you can get bleach that is safe to use on both the fabric and yourself, wash it with bleach. Remember; Never iron fabric that has been discolored by perspiration, as the heat of the iron will set the stain even further.

There is another way to remove sweat odor if it persists even after removing the stain. To remove odors after washing, you can soak the garment in a solution of several spoonfuls of salt dissolved in one gallon of warm water.

However, when it comes to sweat stains, it’s best to come up with some preventative measures. Get a good natural antiperspirant that can help reduce sweating, or wear cheap t-shirts under your midsole to protect the latter directly from sweat stains. If you can handle it, carry a change of shirts with you so you can change at least once during the work day.

Finally, from a medical point of view, it is important to pay attention to excessive sweating if the problem occurs in adulthood, after a surgical procedure, or after completing a course of medication, as it can be a thyroid problem or other medical conditions that may require expert attention. Therefore, you can always go to the doctor if you feel that you are sweating too much.

Before you start implementing the tips mentioned above and get your favorite shirts back by removing sweat stains, we’d like to offer one more piece of advice: try to avoid using chlorine bleach. It has a tendency to react with proteins in sweat and cause the stain to darken even more. So you may find that you’re actually turning your collar and underarms brown when you try to make them white!
