Sludge Volume Index (SVI)

The SVI tells us how good or bad the settling ability of the mixed drink is. This settling begins only after the mixed liquid has been aerobically treated. SDI = (MLSS % * 100) / (% MLSS occupied volume after 30 min settling)

When calculating SVI, the volume obtained after 30 minutes is taken. is divided by MLSS, is reversed when calculating SDI. While SVI is preferably maintained between 50 and 75, SDI values ​​are maintained between 1.0 and 2.5 during the activated sludge treatment process.
